Meet Amy
Amy has spent more than 15 years helping organizations solve complex problems, manage large projects, and bring people together around shared goals. As a project and program manager, she has led multimillion-dollar initiatives in the financial services, utilities, and health care technology industries.
She brings that same practical approach to community service: listening first, organizing people around a clear goal, and following through until the work gets done.
That is the kind of leadership we deserve in Madison.
A Record of Showing Up

Amy knows how to bring people together: She has served on the Marquette University Alumni Association National Board of Directors, including as President, and helped develop professional education programming through the Project Management Institute’s Milwaukee chapter.
Amy knows how to mentor the next generation: She has supported Girl Scouts pursuing Silver and Gold Awards and received the council’s Thanks Badge in 2024 for sustained mission-delivery volunteerism.

Experienced Problem Solver
Amy Zimmerman is a passionate program manager and community enthusiast who believes giving back to her community is a way of life. She brings both corporate expertise and entrepreneurial insights as the spouse of a small business owner.
Amy's interest in local politics grew when facilitating San Jose's participatory budgeting exercise - a pivotal moment in seeing how local politics affects people's lives and working with residents from all backgrounds to express their values through the city's budget.
She currently serves on Brookfield's Parks & Recreation Commission, with whom she worked on the 2024 renovation to Brookfield’s Wirth Park Tot Lot. The new playground features inclusive play features, soft surfacing, fencing, picnic area, and a planned accessible restroom. Both the inclusive and accessible design and the public-private partnership funding model for this project were firsts for the city!
Rooted Here, Ready to Serve
